Ken Robertson, Paddy Power Betfair’s advertising director, will leave the firm after 18 years of service to establish his own social media-focused creative agency later this year.
Robertson, who will remain with the company for the next six months, has been credited with many controversial advertising and promotional initiatives including the most complained about ad in UK history relating to the Oscar Pistorius trial.
Robertson has served in numerous roles within the firm over his 18 year tenure including head of branding at Sportsbet, ‘head of mischief’, head of communications and most recently, advertising director for Paddy Power Betfair.
“Ken is a unique person and filling the void that he leaves will take a special talent, so I’m delighted that he will be around for quite some time to come,” a company memo to staff reads.
“He will be sorely missed and closer to the time, we will take the opportunity to celebrate a quite brilliant career.”
