Its official, Paddy Power Betfair began trading this morning (Tuesday) on the London and Dublin main stock exchanges following regulatory approval of its proposed new share scheme by the UK High Court of Justice.
The start of trading signals the beginning of a new era for the two powerhouses who merged in a GBP 6.4 billion deal first announced in August.
The new enterprise of ‘Paddy Power Betfair’ will lead its category listing on the London FTSE 100 index, with combined company revenues expected to generate more than GBP 1.1 billion. It is led by Betfair chief executive officer Breon Corcoran and former Paddy Power chief executive officer Andy McCue, who takes on the role of group chief operating officer.
