Top UK sports betting site Paddy Power.com appeared to suffer technical hassles Tuesday with a five hour downtime, according to widespread internet reports.

The outage impacted betting on the Wimbledon tennis championships and other sporting activities, for which Paddy Power apologised through social networking communications, although the cause of the problem was not detailed.

By Tuesday evening the site was up and running again.
