The award winning duo that comprises the Daft Punk pop group is not that hard to impersonate, wearing crash helmets in most of their appearances, and this week the Irish gambling group Paddy Powers exploited the opportunity to the full in a headline grabbing move at the Brit 2014 music awards.
Paddy’s mischievous marketers dressed two imposters in typical Daft Punk gear, and the duo than gate-crashed the awards Thursday night, whipping off their trousers Chippendale-style on the red carpet to reveal the now famous green Paddy Power “Lucky Pants” underjocks and generating a barrage of media and TV-vid clips publicity.
After mingling with pop royalty including Pharrell Williams, Ellie Goulding and One Direction, Paddy Power’s pair reportedly had a great time at music’s biggest night of the year.
