The French online and land gambling group Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) is in a strong position for turnover to top Euro 10 billion by the end of the year based on its latest trading update, covering the nine months ended September 30 2011.
The results released this week show that online gambling is playing an increasing role in contributing to the group’s fortunes, with online stakes now accounting for 13 percent of the total. Online stakes in the third quarter alone reached Euro 330 million, up 33 percent.
Overall, the group posted an 8 percent rise in year-to-date turnover to Euro 7.56 million, with the third quarter bringing in Euro 2.46 billion in revenues.
