It looks as if Paysafecard has decided to ditch the Ukash brand following that company’s acquisition earlier this year by subsidiary Skrill.
The company has announced that Ukash is to be replaced by a Paysafecard brand at retailers across the UK from August this year, although existing Ukash vouchers will be accepted for redemption at online businesses until the end of October 31.
In a statement last week Paysafecard revealed that a multi-channel awareness campaign aimed at both retailers and users has been initiated to ensure that they are up to date on the latest developments.
“The acquisition of Ukash has given us the opportunity to expand the choice for consumers wanting to make secure online payments,” Paysafecard CEO Udo Muller said in a media statement.
“We have brought together the best of the prepaid technologies from both Ukash and Paysafecard to give consumers a safe and easy way to make online payments and we are now embarking on a nationwide campaign to ensure the retailers and users are aware of the changes taking place.”
