Penn National Gaming in Pennsylvania has confirmed that over the past two days it has been live testing its sportsbook technology in preparation for action once the state Gaming Commission is satisfied in every respect.
PNG received its Pennsylvania licence in early October and has partnered with UK betting company William Hill’s US subsidiary to power its Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course sportsbook operation. Once achieved, the launch will be the first of its kind in Pennsylvania, making the state the sixth to inaugurate sports betting activity.
In related news, local media reports are that a fifth sports betting licence application is being considered by the Pennsylvania Gaming Commission following an application from Boyd Gaming’s Valley Forge Casino Resort.
Our readers will recall that Boyd has a sports betting partnership with the European gambling group Paddy Power Betfair FanDuel Sportsbook alliance. Regulatory requirements make it unlikely that Valley Forge will launch its sports betting operations until well into Q1-2019.
