Thursday saw no let-up in the online gambling raids by Philippines police officers focused on dismantling a internet gambling ring operating in Pasig City, according to local media reports.
Police chief director Guillermo Eleazar, told local reporters that a raid was successfully mounted at 1 pm on Thursday with 104 individuals detained, 93 of whom are of Chinese origin.
The raiding party seized an unspecified number of desktop and laptop computers, along with mobile phones and other evidence, the director said..
Those arrested are being charged with contraventions of RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012) in relation to Presidential Decree 1602 (Prescribing Stiffer Penalties on Illegal Gambling).
