Philippines regulator Pagcor allowed the other shoe to drop this week on Philweb’s application for permission to provide e-gaming services to an initial 16 gaming sites.
Our readers may recall that in October this year Philweb jumped the gun a little in announcing that it had achieved accreditation as an EGS supplier from Pagcor, allowing it to offer its services to Pagcor-licensed gaming sites for electronic games.
Pagcor quickly reacted with its own statement, clarifying that its accreditation did not allow Philweb to immediately commence operations, and that the supplier would still have to engage a third party audit service provider for electronic games, tasked with regulatory compliance. Philweb is also subject to Pagcor inspections and testing.
This week Pagcor wrote to Philweb giving the company the green light to begin operations, supplying e-gaming services to an initial 16 sites and presumably confirming that Philweb has complied with all Pagcor preconditions.
