Playtech BGT Sports (PBS), the market-leading provider of omni-channel sports betting solutions, has won the ‘Best Land-Based Betting Product’ award at the annual SBC Awards in London.
The leading omni-channel provider’s self-service betting terminals (SSBTs) fought off competition in the category to emerge victorious, with judges impressed with PBS’ key role in driving incremental retail operator revenue as well as increasing customer footfall.
Reflecting the growing demand for Playtech BGT Sports’ SSBTs, which have bucked the trend in retail sports betting, its advanced retail software has continued to secure a greater proportion of bets placed due to their convenience and ease of use.
Boosting both customer engagement and revenues for retail operators, particularly around in-play functionality, the provider now boasts more than 60,000 terminals worldwide.
With Paddy Power, OPAP and Ladbrokes Coral among its client base, PBS SSBTs process an average of more than 1.1 million daily bets.
The SBC Awards win follows a landmark year for the company, which saw the induction of founder and CEO, DI Dr. Armin Sageder, MBA into the coveted SBC Hall of Fame in September, joining the likes of Bet365’s co-CEO Denise Coates and former Sky Betting and Gaming Executive Chairman Richard Flint.
Commenting on the SBC Award win, Lee Drabwell, Senior Commercial Director at Playtech BGT Sports said:
“We’re delighted to secure one of the most sought-after retail betting wins at this year’s SBC Awards, with the hard work and dedication we have put into revitalising retail betting recognised by the judging panel.
“Our SSBTs are now an integral part of the modern betting shop experience, particularly when it comes to increasing customer engagement and revenues for retail operators. Retail betting has a bright future, and we look forward to being at the forefront for many years to come.”
