Playtech‘s chief operating officer, Shay Segev, has moved to the Gala Coral Group as chief strategy officer after a nine year career with Playtech which included a relatively brief spell as CEO of Retail operations.
Reports in May this year on his appointment as the head of Playtech Retail revealed that the division relies on subsidiary Videobet, and the goal is to “…create a unified experience between traditional gaming such as bookmakers, sports betting, lottery products, and online gaming.
Playtech said at the time that Sergev’s appointment furthers the “commitment to innovation, allowing bricks and mortar gaming businesses to connect to the digital mobile world”.
Segev originally joined Playtech in 2006 as COO of Videobet.
A graduate of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, he is a senior “hands on” executive with 17 years experience in the industry.
Whilst at Playtech he played a key role in the Gala Coral Strategic Partnership & Business Transformation,
partnering with the Gala Coral executive team and board, defining their digital strategy, pitching and closing a partnership strategic deal, signing a 10-year contract. The outcome was the turnaround of Gala Coral’s digital business, becoming the success story of 2014, growing 400 percent within 3 years.
