Online and land gambling supplier Playtech plc has extended its product reach to the world’s oceans following an agreement to provide MSC Cruises with its Neon Casino Management System.
The system will be deployed on MSC’s newest cruise liner, the MSC Preziosa, enabling the cruise operator to manage its gaming operations and offer passengers a range of bonus programmes including free and bonus play offers, virtual prize draws, targeted jackpots and hot seat bonuses.
The system will be integrated with the ships’ Fidelio Cruise property management system, enabling guests to use their room key to charge transactions to their bill using a multilingual app at each slot machine, an iPad at gaming tables, or via the cashier.
The deployment on MSC Preziosa further extends Playtech’s relationship with the cruise company, which already operates the Neon system on four of its 12 ships, connected to a central data warehouse at MSC headquarters.
MSC Cruises corporate casino operations manager Sergio Porcasi commented: “We chose Neon because the system offers a modern platform that can cover our entire operation, both on board and ashore. We felt that Playtech was able to adapt the solution to our specific needs, and the first phase of the implementation has been a success.
“We have worked closely with MSC Cruises to create a system that meets the unique demands of a cruise ship casino and will now deliver additional enhancements including improvements to help MSC Cruises to drive its casino business forward,” said Chris Dempsey, director of Playtech subsidiary Intelligent Gaming.
