Playtech Sports has significantly strengthened its management team with a trio of senior appointments ahead of a number of large-scale Playtech ONE projects, and recent acquisitions including leading sports software provider BGT see previous reports).
Richard Andrew has joined Playtech Sports as chief operating officer (COO) from The Hong Kong Jockey Club; Danny Angus has joined as chief technical officer (CTO) from OpenBet; Eoin Redmond will join Playtech Sports from Paddy Power Betfair on October 1st as sportsbook product director; while Peter Greberg has been appointed as technical director and leader of the division’s Malmo, Sweden operations.
Andrew has more than 20 years’ experience in the sports betting industry having recently worked at The Hong Kong Jockey Club and formerly at Ladbrokes where he was Trading, Product and Services Director.
Angus, is a highly experienced, senior software solutions architect and joins from OpenBet where he was Product Director responsible for all of OpenBet’s in-venue technology.
Redmond was previously Lead Product Manager Exchange and Sportsbook at Betfair and has extensive experience developing successful products and implementing process improvement strategies across the IT and gaming industries having worked for IBM, Full Tilt and Betfair.
Ian Chuter, who joined Playtech in October last year as a strategic advisor, will leave the business on October 31st to join the newly merged Ladbrokes-Coral business as chief operating officer – digital.
Chuter’s specific remit during his 12-month term was to review the overall Playtech Sports offering and to consolidate the various sports subsidiaries into a single, unified Playtech Sports operation alongside the hiring of a new senior management team.
