At an extraordinary meeting held today (Monday), Pari Mutuel Urbain named Xavier Hurstel as chief executive officer succeeding Phillippe Germond who resigned to head up Europ Car (see previous report).
Hurstel (45) has held the position of deputy chief executive officer at PMU since 2008. He began his career at the Ministry of Economy and Finance as a civil administrator and was subsequently appointed Financial Attaché representing France to the European Union in Brussels.
His appointment is effective today (Monday).
