PMU partners Viva Technology 2018 

French gambling operator Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) has partnered Viva Technology 2018 for the third consecutive year.

PMU’s brief to startup applications for 2018 was the sustainable growth of horse racing, its core business.  During the selection process, the company focused on ideas for new distribution channels, new technologies (FinTech, blockchain, data), and new forms / contexts of betting.

The selected startups, chosen from 140 applications, were invited to present their innovations at PMU’s “Gaming, Sports and Entertainment” Lab over a three day period where they have been exposed to a mentoring programme in anticipation of Viva Technology 2018 (Vivatech), scheduled to take place in Porte de Versailles from 24 to 26 May 2018.

During Vivatech, the 21 startups will present their solutions in response to PMU’s brief, vying for two Euro 35,000 funding prizes to finance an experiment that will be conducted by PMU’s innovation unit, PMU Lab.
