French operator Pari Mutuel Urbain will expand its betting capabilities following the signing of a three-year deal with Ireland-based software firm Onionsack for Euro 2 million following the completion of a competitive tender.
The service allows customers to use free Instant Messaging or SMS to place bets, in their local language, with their preferred sports betting brand
Onionsack already provides SMS text betting services to big industry players such as Betfred, Totepool, William Hill, Ladbrokes and Paddy Power. It will in future extend its platform to include Twitter and Facebook capability.
The deal is hailed as a major breakthrough outside of its UK and Ireland markets, Onionsack founder and chief executive, Jonathan Power, said.
