Latest official news relating to China’s ongoing crackdown on illegal online gambling comes from the south western city of Chongqing, where over 300 police officers were deployed in raids on suspected operational centres.
Spokesmen reported that 129 suspects had been arrested, the equivalent of US$600,000 in cash, 69 computers and other evidence seized in an operation based on two months of surveillance and investigation.
The investigation discovered that the suspects were running a gambling website and using several social media apps to attract gamblers.
