Online casino games developer PopCap could be getting ready to launch a series of casino-style games on Facebook, according to GeekWire.
New domain purchases, changes to a Facebook page and a recent trademark application for ‘Lucky GemCasino’ by PopCap have been cited by the publication as a possible indicator of a shift to a casino offering.
Back in July this year EA acquired PopCap Games for $650 million plus $100 million stock and a multi-year earn-out. The total acquisition price is estimated at as much as $1.3 billion .
With hits like Plants vs Zombies, Zuma and Bejeweled, PopCap games have been installed 150 million times worldwide, and last year approximately 80 percent of PopCap’s revenue was on digital platforms.
