Erik Balbaugh, a PR veteran with experience in both Washington DC and Boston as a consultant, has been appointed as VP Public Affairs by the land gambling trade body the American Gaming Association.
The former PR advisor to Democrat political leaders like Hillary Clinton and John Kerry is tasked with playing a major role in achieving the AGA’s priority objective of changing US federal law as it applies to sports betting, the Association announced this week.
AGA senior VP for public affairs, Sarah Rayne said in a statement on Balsbaugh’s appointment:
“Erik brings sharp campaigns skills and unmatched experience, including working on gaming issues in Massachusetts, that will help AGA and the industry achieve its most important goals over the coming months and years.”
