Scottish daily fantasy sports operator, Premier Punt, has been awarded a license from the U.K. Gambling Commission (UKGC).
Working on the premise that fantasy products will funnel users into sportsbook, Premier Punt is in the process of completing its Daily Fantasy Sportsbook product which it says will complement its current core DFS offer, working from the same app and wallet.
Premier Punt also report that the company has achieved ‘Patent Pending’ status on its US focused product.
“We don’t know what will happen in the US with regards to whether Trump will legalise sportsbook betting nationwide but if that does happen and we get our patent then we’ll be well placed,” Premier Punt’s general manager, Chris Rae, said.
“It also gives us international protection for 12 months so it gives us options geographically. Having said that, there are no immediate plans to branch into the US for now”.
“The release of the first phase of our new product is imminent and we think it will revolutionise the way users bet on sports and fantasy sports,” John Gordon, chief executive officer of Premier Punt, added.
“This has been the culmination of several months of hard work from all involved with Premier Punt, so it is very exciting that we are almost at the point where we can share the fruits of our labour with our customers and the gambling world at large.”
