Horse race betting bookmaker RaceBets.com has been awarded a German horse betting license saying it is “the first bookmaker to fully comply with new regulations”.
The company boasts four European authority licenses from the Malta Gaming Authority, UK Gaming Commission, Irish Gaming Authority and now Germany.
“We are delighted and exceptionally proud to be the first German bookmaker to receive the licence,” Patrick Byrne, managing director for RaceBets said. “The decision vindicates all the effort and hard work that has been carried out by the whole team, over the last few years, to achieve this milestone.”
RaceBets was initially awarded one of the twenty controversial German sports betting licences in September 2014, a process halted due to legal action brought by failed applicants .
“Our customers will not notice much change,” Byrne said, “but it is a confirmation that due to the strict German regulations, especially in the areas of data security and player protection, we are held in high regard.”
