Arena Racing Company has acquired a majority stake in virtual sports content provider Vermantia for an undisclosed consideration, and has confirmed that founder and chief executive Filippos Antonopoulos is to remain on board and is a shareholder in the company.
ARC says the attraction was Vermantia’s partnership across 31 countries and 20 operators, enabling it to enhance its global distribution potential. Vermantia’s Connect product will be added to the ARC offering, providing horseracing and greyhound racing from the US, Australia, South Africa and the UK.
The Vermantia technology and infrastructure will be expanded via investment from ARC, which supports Vermantia’s ambitions regarding the establishment of a content hub in Greece. Vermantia’s existing international services to ARC will continue, along with the production and delivery of tailored services and channels to retail operators.
ARC chief executive Martin Cruddace said Thursday:
“The acquisition of Vermantia fits perfectly with our existing rights portfolio of traditional trusted BAGS greyhound content and premium international content.”
