The Rank online and land gambling group has announced the appointment of Steven Esom as a non-executive director to its board with effect from 1 March 2016. He will also chair Rank’s remuneration committee and serve on its audit and nominations committees.
Esom (55) had a 12-year career at Waitrose, the last five years of which were as managing director. He has held a number of senior and non-executive positions within the food sector. He is currently the senior independent director and remuneration committee chairman of the FTSE-250-listed food producer, Cranswick plc. He is also non-executive chairman of the British Retail Consortium and of Advantage Travel Centres.
Ian Burke, Rank’s chairman, said Thursday that Esom’s skills and experience will be a real asset to the Group.
