New Jersey has been successful in its petition that the US Third Circuit Court of Appeals should re-consider its sports-betting legalisation case that has been waged against US sports leagues and the Department of Justice for several years (see previous reports).
The re-hearing will take place on February 17 next year before a full bench of 11 judges who have the power to overturn August appeal decision on the case, which went against New Jersey.
That may not be the end of it, as both sides have indicated that they are prepared to apply to take their cause before the US Supreme Court if necessary.
