It hasn’t taken long for Nevada regulators to react to the news that the Republican Party’s latest manifesto includes an anti-online gambling clause.
Within hours of the news emerging, the Las Vegas television station MyNew3 KSNV had contacted Nevada governor Brian Sandoval and been told that he didn’t agree with the policy, and that it would not deter the state from continuing to pursue it’s safe and secure online poker legalisation initiative by the end of this year as the future of gaming.
He was supported by Nevada Gaming Control Board chairman Mark Lipparelli, who said that lawmakers were uninformed; online gambling was a multi-billion dollar industry and banning it was a poor strategy that ignored reality.
