The Remote Gambling Association-led development of a UK National Online Self Exclusion Scheme (NOSES) moved into its second phase last month.
The first phase, concluded in October 2016, involved a scoping study to determine the technical requirements of the scheme, legal implications, operational considerations and an estimate of the costs.
The current phase of the project involves detailed design and vendor selection which will be followed by phase three in which the system will be built and a pilot-run undertaken. Phase four will refine and rollout the system.
Our readers will recall that membership of the scheme will be a requirement for all UK-licensed, customer-facing, online gambling businesses except lottery operators that don’t offer instant win games.
