The British Football Association ending all relationships with betting companies (see previous reports) hasn’t deterred individual clubs from taking advantage of lucrative deals as the 2017-18 season approaches.
Online gambling operator Royal Panda is the latest to enter into a shirt sponsorship, this with professional Champions League club, Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in a three-year deal beginning at the start of the new season.
Under the terms of the deal, Royal Panda branding will feature on the front of QPR home, away and third strips along with other promotional opportunities.
“We are absolutely delighted that Royal Panda are on board as our new shirt sponsors from the 2017/18 season,” Euan Inglis, commercial director of QPR, said.
“A market-leader in the online casino sphere, Royal Panda are joining us at a hugely exciting time, having recently received their Sports Book license, which will launch in the coming months.
“We have a number of exciting initiatives in the pipeline that we are looking to activate around matchdays, which will include various promotions and half-time pitch activities, so the partnership will involve more than simple brand awareness.”
