Russian regulator swings the online gambling ban hammer again

The already ban-happy Russian telecommunications regulator Roskomnadzor took things up a gear over the weekend in its efforts to protect the locally licensed online betting sites, imposing bans on 1,500 domains and counting.
The latest bans add more domains to the 14,500 blocked in August this year, and the 76,000 that the regulator bas barred over the past two years.
Initial reports indicate that among the latest blocks are top olperators such as 888, Bet365, Betfair, Betfred, Betsson, Bwin, Dafabet, 5Dimes, Interwetten, Ladbrokes, Lottoland, Pinnacle, Unibet, William Hill and Winamax, along with government-operated national outfits like Danske Spil, Norsk Tipping, PAF and Singapore Pools.
