Real-time mobile betting applications provider Worldlink and BetButler.co.uk have signed a partnership agreement with the Ryman League which will see up to 66 amateur football clubs in London and the South East benefit from online gambling operations.
Clubs in the League are arranged into three divisions – Premier, North and South , and the agreement with Worldlink calls for the provider to supply dedicated club-specific mobile and online betting portals in association with BetButler.co.uk for each team the three divisions.
Each club earns a percentage of all losing bets staked on sporting events and poker and casino games, with the Ryman League working with members to actively promote the scheme.
Neil Riches, managing director for Worldlink, said the agreement was the company’s first with a major football league.
“As well as providing a first-class service to the clubs’ fans and local community, it will provide an additional income stream to go towards the ever-increasing running costs of a football club,” he said. “Crucially, it can provide income all year round particularly outside the normal football season.”
Each bespoke betting portal will feature a team’s name, logo and colours, while BetButler.co.uk will assist it in managing earnings and returning a percentage to the clubs.
Alan Turvey, chairman for the Ryman League, said: “We are always looking to assist our clubs in every way that we can to allow them to increase their standards on and off the pitch by putting good commercial deals in place. I believe that we have this with Worldlink. The service will be launched at our Banquet and Ball/Annual General Meeting weekend on June 9 and 10.”
