Sedo punts sale of top gambling domain names

News on 20 Sep 2011

Topping a large selection of gambling-related domain names on the website of the German domain vendor Sedo GmBh this week are desirable titles like Casino.net, Poker.net and Sports.net, which marketing manager for the company, Dave Thomas, describes as “a rare opportunity” for operators and turnkey suppliers in the industry.
Thomas should know – earlier this year his company organised the $2.5 million sale of Gambling.com, and was reportedly involved in the million dollar sale of Poker.org in 2010.  The record price paid for a gambling domain remains in the hands of Bodog, which purchased Slots.com in mid-2010 for a reported $5 million .
Casino.net is currently a Boss Media-powered casino skin operated by Dot Net Gaming on the GTech G2-owned software provider’s Malta licences. The sale would include the option to retain the Maltese operating business and the Class 1 on 4 (casino) and Class 3 on 4 (poker) licenses, says Thomas.
Poker.net routes through to the Casino.net site.
