Former Online Dating Association (ODA) chief George Kidd will take on the role of chief executive officer of the Senet Group, a UK-based independent responsible gambling industry body.
Kidd currently serves as Chair and Chief Commissioner of the Direct Marketing Commission, Chair of the Preference Service Working Group – a UK Fundraising Regulator and is a council member and non-executive director of the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.
He spent three years as chief executive of the UK trade association for online dating before his appointment by the Senet Group, prior to which he served as chief executive of PhonepayPlus/ICSTIS for almost 9 years.
His varied industry experience has roots in Government as he spent around five years as Deputy Director Better Regulation/ Equalities Divisions in Cabinet Office and as the British Consul in Chicago.
Kidd takes over the position from founder of the Senet Group Ron Finlay who resigned in April this year (see previous reports).
“Now feels like the time for someone new to take it [Senet Group] on the next step of the journey. I wish Senet and the team well and look forward to seeing it grow further,” Finlay said at the time.
