A series of senior management moves were proposed by Swedish online gambling firm Betsson AB, this week and will be presented to the agm next month.
The owner representatives in the nominating committee will propose Betsson’s current CEO and group president, Pontus Lindwall, to assume the position of working chairman of the board in Betsson AB from 1 July 2011.
Current chairman, John Wattin, will continue as a board member.
Lindwall’s remit will include leading the board and working on long-term strategic issues in a rapidly changing Internet world.
“Through this change, we are strengthening the management functions and thereby ensuring the quality of our continued expansion,” notes Wattin.
Other changes will see Magnus Silfverberg, the current chief executive officer of Betsson Malta Ltd, appointed CEO of Betsson AB in Stockholm from 1 July 2011.
The company intends embarking on a search for a new CEO to replace Silfverberg in Malta.
