The Alderney Gaming Control Commission’s suspension of Sheriff Gaming parent Bubble Group’s licence earlier this week has triggered a reaction from the Dutch company.
In a statement Thursday, Bubble Group notes the licence suspension hearing scheduled by the AGCC for October 29 in London, and welcomes the opportunity this will present for the company to “formally comment to the events that have occurred over the last few months.”
However, the Dutch firm is less than happy with the AGCC decision to suspend its licence until after the hearing, saying that such suspension is being applied “before any true and hard facts have been presented by the AGCC.”
The company will, however, comply with the suspension.
The statement also notes rather pointedly that the Dutch enforcement authorities have found no wrongdoing by the company, saying:
“The management of Bubble would like to reiterate that on 29th August 2013 and 6th September 2013 respectively, the District Attorney wrote to inform Bubble that there can be no doubt that Bubble’s activities, its development of games and licensing of these games are entirely legal.”
The issue goes back to major police actions in May this year when large numbers of police visited various premises allegedly associated with Bubble Group . There have thus far been no criminal charges laid against the company arising from these actions.
