A Singapore court has jailed and fined 55-year-old remote gambling agent Or Poh Soon who earned S$62,000 in commission on wagers over a four year period.
The former newspaper vendor, recruited by Lean Kay Chong – one of three syndicate leaders, pled guilty to the charges and was sentenced to a two-year prison term and and S$50,000 fine.
Or Poh Soon was arrested and charged in November 2017 along with five others (see previous report) for offences under Singapore’s Organised Crime Act.
Other syndicate members await their day in court.
