The UK Football Conference has confirmed that online payment company Skrill has signed up as sponsor of its three divisions for a three year period, ending speculation on who will replace Blue Square, whose sponsorship expired in May this year.
“We’ve confirmed to member clubs that we will shortly be circulating the financial benefits,” Conference director Colin Peake told BBC Sport.
The agreement with Skrill will see the Conference’s divisions rebranded as The Skrill Premier, The Skrill North and The Skrill South.
London-based Skrill specialises in global online financial transactions and boasts over 35 million clients.
Conference chairman Brian Lee said: ”Skrill is a worldwide brand. I am sure they will during their time as title sponsor become well known throughout the game, let alone the Football Conference.
“Skrill joins us at a very exciting time [and] I ask our clubs in turn to embrace Skrill and work with them.”
Skrill Group chied executive Siegfried Heimgaertner said: “By teaming up with the Football Conference we want to bring non-league football to more fans and enable them to support and access their local team in new and exciting ways. In our view the Football Conference is the most dramatic league in the UK and we are proud to be its title sponsor for the next three seasons.”
The Conference has already announced a broadcasting deal with soon-to-launch TV broadcaster BT Sport.
