Sky Betting and Gaming has announced the shutdown of its UK affiliate programme, with a communication from m.d. Edward Moss advising affys:
“We are writing to inform you of our intention to terminate the Sky Betting and Gaming UK Affiliate Programme and the agreement entered into between you and Bonne Terre Limited in relation to the programme.
“As you will be aware, the regulatory landscape in which the industry operates is developing and maturing and operators are experiencing increased obligations regarding their regulatory responsibilities and level of compliance. In order to continue to operate in a compliant manner, we feel that operating the programme is no longer viable and that managing the output of affiliates presents a significant risk to our business from a regulatory perspective.
“It is for this reason that we have chosen to terminate the programme.
“Clause 13.2 of the Agreement allows us to terminate the Agreement immediately on providing written notice; however, we have chosen to give you 28 days’ notice of termination [and the program will] terminate on 2 October 2017.”
The communication goes on to request that affiliates cease all promotional activity and remove all live links to Sky Betting and Gaming websites or associated intellectual property, returning all confidential information relating to Sky Betting and Gaming.
The Affiliate Hub portal, located at affiliatehub.skybet.com, will cease to be available from 2 October 2017 and all commission arrangements for all players will end at this point, the communication advises.
The programme’s final payment cycle will begin at the end of September and outstanding balances will be paid in full. Payments should arrive in accounts on or around 20 October 2017 as per the normal process. To ensure the process runs smoothly, affiliates are advised to check that their payment details are up to date with full banking information.
