The Social Gaming Association (SGA) and the International Social Games Coalition (ISGC) have agreed to unify, presenting one industry voice for the social games industry.
The merger, which will see the consolidated organisation named the International Social Games Association (ISGA), represents social games companies across a wide spectrum.
The ISGA’s core objectives will be to educate and inform the public, policy makers and regulators on what the industry does, how it works, and the value it generates for the digital economy, a statement said, while developing and promoting a unified set of socially responsible values to its members aimed at safeguarding the consumer whilst also protecting the dynamic and innovative nature of this popular form of entertainment.
Executive Boards from both associations will be combined and headed up by Luc Delany as chief executive officer and current Chairman of the SGA. Stuart Tilly of the ISGC was appointed as a Non-Executive Board Advisor.
The merger was welcomed by Paul Mathews, the current chairman of the International Social Games Coalition and of the new ISGA, who said: “I’m pleased to be able to announce that our two groups are joining forces – we’re looking forward to representing the great work done by social games companies around the world together.”
“The merger between our respective organisations is a continuing sign of the industry’s commitment to advancing its socially responsible agenda and the ISGA will give the industry a solid and powerful platform to do so,” Tilly added.
Members of the newly merged association include Aristocrat Technologies, Plumbee, Playtika, MGM. Gamesys, RocketPlay, IGT, PLAYSTUDIOS, Zynga, Abzorba Games, Bally Technologies, Enteraction and Slingo.
