A 23-year-old former personal banking advisor who stole a total of GBP 72 000 from his father’s bank account to fund his online roulette addiction has landed back in jail for the same offence.
David James Collins who was jailed in 2010 for pilfering customer’s and his father’s accounts was sentenced to two years imprisonment by Mold Crown Court Judge Rhys Rowlands.
Rowlands had some choice words for Collins saying: “Having apologised to your father, he forgave you and allowed you to move back to live with him. He gave you money to help you where you were struggling to find work.
“Your expressions of remorse had a rather hollow ring to them. You repaid his generosity by assuming his identity and withdrawing significant sums of money from his bank accounts.”
“Your predicament should serve as a warning to others. You ran up unmanageable debts as a result of your behavior,” Rowlands said, describing Collins’ that behaviour as completely dishonest and a breach of his father’s trust.
