Online gambling delegates visiting the G2E conference and expo in Las Vegas next week will be making a beeline for the International Game Technology (IGT) stand, where the games developer will be showing off its latest land slots – with two major new releases that are hopefully destined for the online market as well at some future stage.
In collaboration with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, the company has developed two vivid video slots based on director James Cameron’s blockbusting movie Avatar, dubbed ‘James Cameron’s Avatar Video Slots’ and ‘James Cameron’s Avatar Treasures of Pandora.’
Inspired by the highest-grossing film of all time, James Cameron’s Avatar, IGT’s newest high-impact game series takes players back to the stunning and imaginative visual and sound effects of the epic movie.
“It was an absolute honor to collaborate with the extremely talented people at Fox Consumer Products and Lightstorm Entertainment to design and develop these games,” says Darrell Rodriguez, IGT Chief Creative Officer, in a pre-show press release.
“We created two games that reflect the attention to detail and breathtaking beauty that James Cameron fans would expect.”
The games put players right in the middle of the struggles between humans and the Na’vi. With unlocked content, customizable options and innovative bonuses, players will feel as though they have taken flight among the Na’vi warriors over the forests of the Pandora, IGT promises.
This is the first IGT game that enables players to track their progress and achieve additional game content as they advance to new player levels. Bonuses include thematic content based on the Avatar film including The Hunt to search the forests for more credits, Take Flight with a banshee to tame, and the Warrior Free Games where players choose which warrior they want to root for as they strive to collect enough symbols to garner a prize.
‘James Cameron’s Avatar Treasures of Pandora’ will debut on IGT’s Crystal Core Cabinet, to maximise the spectacular 3D visual effects on a touch-sensitive 42″ vertical screen. A follow-up release to Avatar Video Slots, this wide-area progressive features two vertically stacked base games. Upon max bet wager, the “merging feature” may be activated, combining the two base games and creating an industry-first 7,776 ways to win.
The two games will join IGT’s MegaJackpots series, which since1986 has created more than 1,500 millionaires and paid out nearly $6 billion in jackpot winnings.
