The Danish online casino operator Spilnu.dk has announced an operating profit of GBP 5.6 million after publishing its financial results for 2014.
The 79 percent rise in profit is attributed to the introduction of a new fully-responsive website towards the end of the year, which has improved the user experience and boosted game sessions by 58 percent.
The company reports that 25 percent of its game sessions now come from the mobile channel.
Gross gaming revenues rose by 54 percent after the addition of four new slot games, Golden Pyramid, Sideshow, Sunny Farm, and Bank Walt, from principle supplier Magnet Gaming.
The results follow the release of data from Spillemyndigheden, Denmark’s national gambling regulatory body, in March showing substantial growth in the online casino market over the last two years .
Gross gaming revenue generated within the Danish online market in 2014 amounted to just under DDK7.8 billion (Euro 905.2 million/$960.6 million), up DDK7.5 billion at the end of 2012.
Spilnu.dk is the sister company of online slots provider Magnet Gaming, with both companies 60 percent owned by former state-run monopoly Danske Spil.
Magnet is current working on a further six slot titles which will be made available over the next 12 months.The company soft launches its games in Denmark to verify performance metrics and optimise the player experience before releasing them in the international market.
