The Scottish Premier League Club “Rangers” and The Weather Lottery (TWL) will appear before the Glasgow Sheriff’s Court for legal debate this week in a dispute concerning GBP 30 000.
Doncaster-basted TWL provided the Rangers with online lottery and betting services in a deal signed in August 2010, to which the football club claims TWL owes it GBP 30 000 in unpaid profits derived from operating the online Rangers FC Lotto which was initiated to raise money for the club’s youth team.
While The Weather Lottery reported a pre-tax loss in the region of GBP 780 000 in its latest annual report and is hoping to offload its faltering FCBetz.com subsidiary , The Rangers Football Club faces financial challenges of its own currently placed in Administration and facing court action and a damages claim from its former chief executive along with the outcome of a first tier tax tribunal.
