US-based sports betting techology company Metric Gaming has ambitious plans to expand into Russia through a pioneering partnership with Moscow-based Sportbet, the country’s original betting company.
Sportbet holds the first bookmaking license ever issued by Russia’s Federal Tax Service, and its services will be enhanced with the integration of Metric’s state-of-the-art SuperLive Platform, the company claims.
Metric will provide Sportbet all traditional pre-game sportsbook content in addition to Metric’s SuperLive and other innovative in-game betting opportunities. These will be rolled out first in Sportbet’s retail shops, followed by online channels under Russia’s new internet gaming regulations.
“Sportbet is an important partner for Metric as we continue to expand into regulated markets,” said Metric’s chairman, Peter Bertilsson in a press statement Thursday.
“We are proud to have been recognised for the broad appeal of our platform technology, and look forward to bringing the latest in betting entertainment to a new jurisdiction with such a well-established name in Russian gaming.”
“This is an exciting period for Sportbet,” added Alexander Astapov, Sportbet‘s COO. “We are soon entering the online betting space thanks to Russia’s new regulations, and naturally wanted the best technology for this new venture.”
