Connecticut lawmakers have approved Sportech PLC’s wagering venue expansion in the State, in which it offers 15 off-track betting venues under an exclusive license.
The company hopes to expand that number to 24.
The expansion was voted in favor of by a 22-14 vote by the State Senate, under House Bill 6948 but would still require a signature from Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy.
House Bill 6948 also includes provision for the formation of a regulatory framework covering sports betting in anticipation of a potential shift in Federal Law.
