The famous UK football club Tottenham Hotspur has signed a four year sponsorship agreement with the major internet sports betting company Sportingbet.com, which will see the gambling company become Spur’s official gaming partner with a brand presence at White Hart Lane stadium and within the club’s communications channels.
The new deal comes into effect from the club’s forthcoming Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers on September 18 at White Hart Lane.
Daniel Levy, chairman of Tottenham Hotspur said, “As a significant brand in the sports gaming world and with a strong passion for football we are delighted to have Sportingbet.com on board as the Club’s official gaming partner.”
Peter Dicks, chairman of Sportingbet plc said, “We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Tottenham Hotspur, one of the Premier League’s most established football clubs. We’re busy working with the commercial team at White Hart Lane to create new offerings that will produce benefits for both the club and its fans this season and are looking forward to a successful season in the Premier League.
Football dominates Sportingbet.com’s business, representing 65 percent of the group’s total sports betting revenue, and it accepts over 42 million football bets each year. Tottenham Hotspur is the second football sponsorship signed by Sportingbet this season and follows the online gambling group’s shirt sponsorship with Wolverhampton Wanderers and recently announced partnership with Leeds United.
Sportingbet will use its partnership with Tottenham Hotspur and the assets it provides including hospitality and match tickets to engage with the club’s established fan base and build the brand further internationally, Dicks said.
