Sportpesa in Italian online sports betting partnership

International online gambling group SportPesa has teamed up with Italian online gaming solutions provider Microgame as part of its Italian expansion plan.

SportPesa acquired a majority shareholding in RCS Gaming earlier in 2017 (see previous report), and will team up with Microgame to offer an online sportsbook and casino, as well as online poker, virtual games, table games and bingo products.

The Italian-facing products will then be enhanced with SportPesa’s proprietary games, with Microgame’s technical staff working alongside SportPesa’s development team to handle the integration.

Luca Magnano, Italy country manager for SportPesa, said that the company’s staff has quickly developed a strong understanding and working relationship with Microgame, and that the intention was to become an industry leader in the Italian market.

Marco Castaldo, the CEO of Microgame, said he was confident in the significant potential in the partnership, and that Microgame would deploy all the resources necessary to ensure its success.

SportPesa is a sports betting platform with operations in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, the Isle of Man and the United Kingdom, where it operates in conjunction with TGP Europe.
