Sportradar in integrity deal with Cricket Australia

Sportradar will monitor Cricket Australia’s Ryobi Cup, BUPA Sheffield Shield and KFC Big Bash T20 League domestic competitions in an integrity partnership deal announced Tuesday.

Sportadar’s Fraud Detection System (FDS) will monitor the cricket competitions for signs of betting-related corruption and fraudulent activity constituting a vital step in Cricket Australia’s integrity programme.

The company’s FDS was reportedly integrally involved in the recent soccer match-fixing investigation in Australia where it detected suspected manipulated matches and its systems and databases were used to warn authorities in advance of individuals of interest who registered to play in their leagues.

“It’s critical in today’s world that sports governing bodies confront the threat of betting related match-fixing and have robust preventative, detection and investigation methods in-place,” Carsten Koerl, chief executive officer of Sportradar said:  “Cricket Australia is doing just that and Sportradar is delighted to be partnering with them to help protect their competitions against the threat posed from match-fixers”.
