Emmett Shear, chief executive of the Twitch live streaming company, revealed some interesting new features planned for the facility in the coming months during his address to Twitchcon 2017 last week.
Twitch’s subscriptions revenue and audience numbers have grown impressively in the past year, and the company can now boast over 110,000 creators on its books, he said.
Notable successes include the introduction last year of the popular 60-Second Clip, which he claims has already accrued over a billion views.
Among the other new features now in planning are:
* A new dashboard enabling creators to gain better perspectives on the preferences of their audiences;
* A premiere service to help creators build up interest ahead of a streaming performance;
* Raid Command, a system that will allow for other streamers to appear in a creator’s production;
* The introduction of multiple rooms for creators which stay open even outside streaming activity;
* A new achievements function designed to help creators assess their progress on set goals;
* The introduction of a subscription gifting system to allow family and friends to buy subscriptions as gifts for streamer fans.
