The Sun Bets brand launched this week backed by a multi-million pound ad campaign from in-house creative agency Pulse Creative, which is due to flight later this week to coincide with the start of the new Premier League Season.
Sun Bets is a joint venture between News UK and Tabcorp, agreed in February this year (see previous reports), and expands on the two companies already established relationship in the Australian market.
“It is a natural step for us,” David Attenborough, Tabcorp’s chief executive said in an interview with The Australian publication at the time.
“We have worked with News Ltd closely in Australia and built up a high degree of trust. They have one of the strongest brands in the UK with half of the UK betting population regularly reading or engaging with The Sun.”
The Sun reportedly has over 10 million readers a week and around one million football fans engaged in its fantasy football product, whom will be exposed to the Sun Bets brand along with customers of its online bingo operation Sun Bingo.
