Sweden’s state-run Svenska Spel delivered largely flat full-year revenues despite strong mobile growth of 57 percent and a 14 percent increase in online revenue.
Key performance figures for the 12 months ending December 31, 2016 include:
– Net gaming revenue of SEK 8,993 million (2015: SEK 8,961 million), an increase of 0.4 percent.
– Operating income amounting to SEK 4,851 million (2015: SEK 4,791 million), an increase of 1.3 percent.
– Group profit was SEK 4866 million (2015: SEK 4,803 million), an increase of 1.3 percent.
– Operating margin amounted to 22.2 percent (2015: 22.6 percent).
“We end the year 2016 with a successful result in a tough environment, at the same time we show that it is possible to combine growth with responsible gaming,” Lennart Käll, chief executive officer of Svenska Spel commented.
Grass roots youth sports clubs have benefited with payments of SEK 50 million from Svenska Spel during the year.
