Sweden lays out road map for new gambling regime

Swedish regulator Lotteriinspektionen has laid out the road map towards the launch of a re-regulated gambling market on January 1 2019 following approval of the new Gambling Act by Swedish Parliament earlier this month.
The regulator still awaits the approval of new Gambling regulations from the Government which it expects by July 5, 2018.
License application documents are then expected to be published on the website on July 10, 2018 subject to any adjustments arising from the Gambling Regulations.
On July 24, 2018, the Swedish Gambling Authority plans to pre-publish regulations and guidelines on its website. These will be preliminarily in force on September 1, 2018.
